This is my basic back tricorn I purchased at Echoes of the Past several years back, but never decorated.  When I decided to go as a pirate for Halloween this last year, I figured this would be the cheapest solution to headwear.  Not wanting the make the decoration permanent, I attached the trim with double sided tape and the feathers are simply stuck in.  The cockade is made from some scrap cotton I had and the button I covered with some left over black taffeta.  Click here to see the rest of the outfit.
