Wine Box
Wedding GiftTwo of my friends were married on
Jan 2, 2011 and I wanted to make them something special to
celebrate. As I knew the groom was fond of a particular type
of wine, I thought a couple of bottles of it would be a good present
for them to enjoy on a date night or two. Since I couldn't
find a box that I liked and that held two bottles, I decided
to make my own. Using two of the single paper boxes from Hobby
Lobby, I came up with what you see above. The only major
surgery I had to do was to cut one side of each of the box tops off
and glue the remaining back together. After that I glued the
boxes together, painted them, covered the seams with ribbon, stamped
and embossed the entire thing, and added gems and my own handles
made from organza ribbon.
